The membership of LISELA consists of science education administrators and science teachers. We welcome everyone who is interested in improving science education for the students of Long Island.
LISELA host three main events each year. - SCIMEX, our science materials exhibit gives educators an opportunity to view the latest in educational supplies, equipment and textbooks. A dinner with a keynote speaker follows the exhibit
- The Elementary Science Workshop and Luncheon held prior to SCIMEX. This year’s theme is science and literacy.
- What’s Hot, What’s Not. Science educators are updated on the current trends and changes in science education in New York State. Following the presentations attendees enjoy a catered dinner.
- Spring Conference. Featuring workshops lead by local science educators and a keynote speaker, participants leave the conference with demonstrations and lessons they can use with their students.
The Executive Board of LISELA meets monthly, and is interested in knowing the concerns of Long Island’s science educators. Please contact us if there is an issue you would like to bring to our attention. New members are always welcome. |
