Dear Science Educator:
Welcome back! I hope that you had an enjoyable summer vacation, and wish you all the the best for the coming school year.
As I am sure that you know, these are very uncertain times for science education in New York State. The lack of effective leadership and direction at the State level makes it imperative that science educators on Long Island take an active role in trying to determine the direction that science instruction will take in New York.
The Long Island Science Education Leadership Association, Inc. (LISELA) is an association composed of science supervisors, chairpersons, and other science educators on Long Island. You do not have to be a supervisor to join.
LISELA has been extremely active in relaying your science curriculum thoughts and concerns to the State Education Department. We have become a major resource of current information, and we are able to share this with each of you through our meetings, workshops, and newsletters during the course of each year.
Please renew your membership now, or join us for the first time in our fight for the best science instruction for our students on Long Island. I am looking forward to working with you soon.
Together we can make the critical difference.
Sincerely yours,
Lenny Giordano
